Birthdays, Baptism & Parties

Januay 2009 was a month like no other in our family. Libby turned 8 and was so excited to be baptized. However, first we had to have a party to celebrate her birthday and nothing does that like 12 eight year olds running around the house. She had a great time and loved the very generous presents from all of her friends. She was baptized on January 30th by her Dad and played her first cello solo as part of the program.

Jake turned 14 - WOW! He has gotten so grown up and mature and I couldn't ask for a better son. He asked that for his birthday dinner if we could have "crepes" and "ham steaks." Kind of crazy but super easy and then brownies with out frosting instead of a cake. He is truly one of a kind. He was ordained a Teacher on February 1st and just got his braces off! WAHOO!

We partied quite a bit in January. We went to St. George over MLK weekend so that I could run the Painter's Half Marathon and took the kids hiking in Snow Canyon. I cannot believe how much the like to hike and be outside, the would have spent the entire day if I had let them. We had two Birthday parties and Jake's was his first teenage party or no adults downstairs. All of our family came in from around the state and Idaho for Libby's baptism and we enjoyed everyone's company afterwards for dinner. The following day was the Super Bowl and why not have another party.
